We note that it is through a learner-centric approach that the learners are able to fill the gaps in their knowledge, and strengthen their grasp on fundamental conceptual basics. The relationships between the tutor, the learner, Learner Support Agents, parents, the school, and the wider community also has a part to play and reinforces the commitment to the programme.

Sophumelela Youth Development Programme (SYDP), is a youth based organisation focusing in resolving socioeconomic issues facing learners in schools. Our aim is to uplift high school learners and university students, bridge the gap between academics (learners/students) and the society and eradicate socio-economic issues faced by high school learners. The organization seeks to achieve its aims by motivating, tutoring, mentoring, monitoring the academic progress and providing career guidance to high school learners and university students.
